Angus (1913-1977) was a son of John Gillies and Mary Ann Macaulay of 29 New Shawbost. In 1954 in Inverness, Angus married Christina Annie Macleod of 14b Tolsta Chaolais; the couple settled at 29 New Shawbost and had two sons.
