Murdo (born 1906) was a son of Charles Macfarlane and Margaret Macleod, 26 Melbost.
On April 21, 1923 he emigrated to Canada on the SS Metagama bound for Quebec.
He married Margaret Kennedy, who was also on the same voyage, formerly of 2b Calbost. Murdo and Margaret returned to Lewis and lived at 15 Branahuie. The couple had two children and the family settled in Inverness
