John Macdonald (born 1839) was a son of John Macdonald and Janet Macleod, 4 Kershader. His father died in 1839 and the family moved to 4 Habost in 1860.
In Stornoway, in 1866, he married Ann Macdonald, Sandwick. John and Ann settled in Stornoway and they had four children
