Duncan (1882-1959) was a son of Donald Macrae and Isabella Macleod, 8 Habost.
On November 24, 1915 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve S/N DA9806. His record indicates that he was 5ft 5in tall with brown eyes and a dark complexion. Duncan was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. Based at HMS Iolaire and aboard HMT Sasebo. He received £18.15/- in Prize Money and is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
In Lochs, in 1923, he married Ann Macleod, 11 Habost. Duncan and Ann settled at 8 Habost and they had five children.
