Mary Maclennan (1800-1883) was the daughter of Duncan Maclennan and Catherine Macleod, Isle of Ensay, Harris. Her mother died and it is thought Mary lived with her paternal grandparents at Uidh, Taransay.
In 1820 Mary married John Macdonald who had the tack at Paibil, Taransay. The couple settled at Paibil and they had nine children. Mary inherited the tack at Uidh and the two farms were combined.
