14223: John Macdonald
John Macdonald (1793-1878) was a son of Murdo Macdonald and Ann Mackinnon, 3 Old Leurbost. He married Catherine Morrison and the couple lived at 26 Old Leurbost, where they had six children. In 1837 he remarried to Betsy Mackenzie of 2 Keose, who was a widow. Together they had three children, John, Alexander and Catherine. The family lived at 26 Old Leurbost and took up the croft at 35 Leurbost when the village was re-lotted in the early 1850s.
