Gormelia Macdonald or Smith (born 1761) was from Carloway. 

In 1790 she married Kenneth Maclean from Shawbost and they lived at Bhuala Glas an area around 14 Calbost  before Calbost was lotted. The couple settled there and they had five children. Around 1830 the couple moved to 6 Old Gravir where their son Kenneth was living.

Gormelia was living with her daughter Christina at 7 Calbost in 1841 and was listed as Smith in the Census. In the Census widows often revert to their maiden name.

On the four Death Certificates of their children after 1855, under mother's maiden name, Mary has Macaulay and Catherine, Kenneth and Christina have Macdonald.
