John Kennedy (born 1897) was a son of John Kennedy and Anne Nicolson, 2 Calbost. The family moved to Stornoway in the late 1900s and settled at 24 North Beach Street.
At Inverness, in 1929, he married Isabella Macleod, 11 Melbost. The couple lived in Stornoway.
John served in Royal Air Force in World War Two.
John was a prominent businessman in Stornoway and active in public affairs. He was a senior Baillie of the Burgh and a contender for the office of Provost.
