16006: Donald Smith

Donald  (1854-1887) was a son of Roderick Smith and Catherine Macleod, 5 Calbost.  

In Lochs, in 1885, he married  Mary Macleod,18 Cromore.  Donald and Mary settled at 5 Calbost for a very short time. Mary died in childbirth and their son, Neil, died some time later. Donald  died the following year.  

He was reputed to be one of the strongest men going from Lewis to the east coast fishing.
