Iain Iain Thormoid
John (1887-1979) was a son of John Macleod and Mary Macleod, 6 Calbost. He emigrated to the USA but returned some time later.
At Stornoway, in 1923, he married Christina Ann Macmillan, 20 Gravir. John and Christina were Cottars at 6 Calbost and they had six children.
Due to the lack of land and the decline in the Fishing Industry the family took advantage of the scheme to provide fishermen's houses at Stornoway. In 1933 the family moved to 8 Oliver's Brae.
John was a skipper on the fishing boat Honour Bright and continued to work with his Calbost crew even when he moved to Stornoway.
