Hector (1832-1930) was a son of John Matheson and Catherine Matheson, 3a Aird Uig.
Hector married Chirsty Maciver, of Tobson and took over part of 26 Valtos (creating 28) where, according to the 1901 census, he was a general merchant and a fish-curer. Hector and Chirsty had eight children.
