Donald (1828-1903) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Marion Mackenzie, 6 Balallan. He married Mary Macdonald, Bosta, and they had seven children.
Donald and his family were squatters (along with his brother Malcolm and his family) at Valtos, Kinloch, until they were evicted in 1867. They settled at 27 Laxay.
Donald’s brother, Malcolm, was married to his wife’s sister Christina.
