John (b1834) was a son of Malcolm MacDonald and Margaret Macdonald, Bosta. It is possible he may have moved with his family to 7 New Shawbost.
John married Ann Morrison, 2 Tolsta Chaolais and they settled at 2b Tolsta Chaolais after his brother in law, Neil split croftt 2 Tolsta Chaolais with him. They later moved to Stornoway and the croft was sold to Norman Mackay, 1c Tolsta Chaolais.
