18438: John Mackenzie
John Mackenzie (1909-1985) was a son of Murdo Mackenzie and Catherine Macaulay, 24 Balallan. He went to Patagonia in 1930 but returned home in 1938. John served with the Royal Marines during the Second World War and afterwards worked with Glasgow Corporation Tramways. He married Ann Macdonald, 12 Keose and after living for a time in Glasgow, they returned to live at 24 Balallan. They had four children.
