18743: Murdo Maclennan
According to tradition Murdo was at one time in Little Bernera with one of his brothers while a third brother was in Croir. There was a quarrel between the two brothers in Little Bernera; the wife of one of the brothers (she came from Ness) persuaded her husband to move to her native place. They left Little Bernera for Ness by boat with a cargo of barley but they disappeared on their way.
Many years later a Stornoway shipmaster met the Bernera man in Gothenburg. He handed the shipmaster a stocking of gold to give to his brother Murdo.
