18771: William Maclennan

William, son of Murdo, was joint tacksman of Berve (Berie) and Kneep, with his brother Duncan. He had a son, whose name we do not know, who is mentioned in a letter to the Chamberlain of Lewis, dated at Berve, 25th March, 1771, in which he apologises for having sent him to school in Bernera without the Chamberlain’s permission!
