22716: Kenneth Macleod

Coinneach ‘an Aonghais

Kenneth Macleod (1837-1919) was a son of John Macleod and Anne Maclean, 8 Calbost.

In  Lochs, in 1864, he married Mary Macmillan, 17 Crossbost. Kenneth and Mary were cottars at 8 Calbost  and they had nine children.

Like many other families in the area, the scourge of Pulmonary Tuberculosis decimated this family.

Some time after 1891 the family moved to 3 Marvig where they acquired a croft after Kenneth’s cousin, John Maclean, Iain Dhomhnaill Choinnich, moved to Stornoway.

Kenneth was widowed in 1908.
