23040: John Mackenzie
John, born in 1879 in Croir, was a son of Malcolm and Ann nee Macphail who settled at 8 Breaclete. He married Mary Macdonald from 5 Breaclete and had one daughter Catherine before the outbreak of WW1. During the war he served with the Royal Naval Reserve and lost his life on the Iolaire , aged 38 years.
