John (1906-1945) was a son of John Macleod and Isabella Nicolson, 8 Calbost.

On September 10, 1923 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve his Service Number was  A11261 and he re-enrolled under B7068 and C6383. He and his brother, John both registered under the same date of birth, September 30, 1904. His records indicate that he was 5ft 11in tall, with reddish fair hair, a fair complexion and blue grey eyes. John was a fisherman on Buckie and Stornoway registered fishing boats including the Beautiful, the Cawdor Castle and the Trust.

He emigrated to the United States of America but later returned. John was a bachelor and died aged 38.
