23998: Williamina Isabella Margaret Macleod

Williamina Isabella Margaret Macleod (1893-1966)  was a daughter of Malcolm Macleod and Margaret Gillies from 6 Breaclete. She was a  teacher in Bernera School before moving to Glasgow.

At Anderston, Glasgow, in 1919, she married Donald Macdonald a merchant from Stornoway. The couple had three children and moved to Canada. The family returned to Bernera in 1928 where they stayed at the family home until they built Ardglas – on a feu off 6 Breaclete; they also ran a little shop there.

Williamina was widowed in 1961.
