24533: Angus Maciver

Angus Maciver (1881-1916) son of Angus Maciver and Mary Maciver, 9a Laxay moved to Glasgow where he served his apprenticeship as a bricklayer. Emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in c1907 and married Jessie Macdonald from Stornoway in 1913. He enlisted with the Canadian Engineers in 1916 and served as a Sergeant in France. He was shot through the heart whilst giving an order. He had been a Director of the Gaelic Society in Vancouver and Financial Secretary and later Chief of the Clan Maclean Society.
