Donald Maciver
Donald Maciver (1884-1965) son of Donald Maciver and Ann Macdonald, 13b Laxay, was a pupil teacher at Knockiandue School. He served as a Company Sergeant Major with the Seaforths during the First World War. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in taking command when all the officers of his Battalion had been killed. He was wounded in the leg but made a recovery. He married Mary M Finlayson, Inverness and lived at Kinbuck, Dunblane.
