25837: Dugald Macleod

Dugald (1892-1917) was a son of Alexander Macleod and Annabella Kennedy, 13a Calbost

He served as a Lance Corporal in the 2nd Gordon Highlanders, Service Number 3/5620,  during the First World War. Dugald was twice wounded, the last time at Ypres. He was medically discharged and died at home in 1917 aged 25. He was awarded the Mons Star.

Dugald is buried at Gravir Cemetery and his name is commemorated in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918,  on Pairc War Memorial and on Lewis War Memorial Stornoway.
