Donald, born in 1912, was a son of John and Effie nee Maciver from 52b Balallan. During WW 2 he served with the Cameron Highlanders RASC in the UK, Middle East, North Africa and Italy. He married Mary Ann Mackay from 3 Garynahine and settled at 51b Balallan where they raised one daughter.
