Ruaraidh Mhurchaidh Ruairidh

Roderick  (1897-1915) was a son of Murdo Kennedy and Ann Mackenzie, 14 Calbost.

He served with the 1st Battalion of the Cameron Highlanders  Service Number 3/5538, during the First World War. He was killed in action at La Bassee on 27 January 1915, aged 18. His name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, France, in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918, on the Pairc War Memorial and on the Lewis War Memorial in Stornoway.
