Donald, born c1855, was the son of Ann Ferguson from 2 Crulivig and Murdo Macleod. Murdo was a ghillie at Grimersta who took the paternity of Donald, hence the Macleod surname. Donald married Annie Macdonald, whose parents lived at 5 Lundale. They lived at Crulivig until sometime in the early 1900s when they moved to Lundale to live with Annie's father. They had a family of eleven; ten boys and one girl; one of the boys died in infancy.
