Fergus Macleod (1909-1984) son of John Macleod and Margaret Macritchie, 16a Laxay served with the Lovat Scouts during the Second World War. He married Catherine Macdonald, 18 Laxay and resided at 16a Laxay. He was employed as a ghillie on Soval Estate. The family lived for a time at 26 Laxay before moving to 7 Cameron Terrace, Luerbost in 1953.
