At Crossbost, in 1855, she married Donald Maclennan, 6 Marvig. Barbara and Donald settled at 6 Marvig and they had six children. The family moved to 26 Lemreway between 1871-1875.
Barbara was widowed in 1875 and the family moved to Stornoway,
