27820: Malcolm Macaulay

In 1610 Malcolm, a son of Dugald from Uig, was engaged with his brother Donald in the unlawful seizing of a ship belonging to a Bordeaux merchant. He was wanted by the Privy Council for this and other wicked acts;

"Privy Council, July 1610

Warrant to Rory Macleod of Harris to keep in his custody until the last day of May next – Donald Cam MacCoul and Malcolm MacCoul to the effect the Lords of the Council may at that time give such other directions anent them as shall seem most meet and expedient, for the quiteness of the country"
