Thomas (1825-1894) was a son of John Macdonald and Margaret Mackenzie, 7 Garyvard.
In Lochs, in 1852, he married Christina Macritchie, 21 Gravir. Thomas and Christina settled at 5 Garyvard where they had five of their seven children.
The family emigrated to Canada in 1863 and they settled at Lingwick, Quebec.
