Alexander Macdonald (1803-1879) was a child of Murdo Macdonald and Ann Mackinnon of 3 Old Leurbost. He married Margaret Mackenzie from 11 Old Leurbost and lived with her at 27 Old Leurbost, having seven children. He later obtained the croft at 42 Leurbost.
