Donald (1817-1895) was a son of John Mackenzie and Isabella Mackenzie, 10 Old Orinsay.
Old Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 24 Crossbost.
In Lochs, in 1845, he married Margaret Mackenzie,15 Crossbost. Donald and Margaret settled in 24 Crossbost and they had nine children.
Donald was widowed in 1867 and married Mary Macaulay, 38 Ranish in Lochs on December 23, 1870.
