Rev Alexander Macleod

Alexander Macleod (1827-1903) was a son of Malcolm and Christina Macleod, 2 Kershader.

He studied at the University and New College, Edinburgh. He was ordained at Strontian in 1868 and was a gospel minister at Strontian Free Church of Scotland.

At Anderston, Glasgow, in 1871, he married Christina Mackay and they settled at Strontian.

Alexander was widowed in 1877 and in 1880, at Kilmore and Kilbride Church, Oban, he married Mary Helen MacVean from Iona.

Rev Alexander Macleod and his wife's large tombstone was erected in Pettyfuir Cemetry in Oban, Argyll.
