28748: Donald Ferguson
Donald Ferguson (1907-1984) son of Ewen Ferguson and Catherine Morrison, 30 Laxay served with the Seaforth Highlanders during the Second World War. He was captured by the Germans and was held as a Prisoner of War for 5 years. He married Eva Steenson from Ireland and after the War, worked as a bus driver in Glasgow, living in Motherwell and moved back to Stornoway in 1950. From 1954-58, Donald and his family lived at 67 Plasterfield before moving in to live with his parents at 30 Laxay. In 1960 they moved to Northern Ireland where Donald died in 1984.
