John (1882-1962) was a son of Murdo Mackay and Mary Macleod, 3 Kershader.
He married Alexandra Smith, 16 Balallan and they emigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada.
John was Best Man at the marriage of John Macleod and Murdina Macleod, formerly of Kershader and Garyvard.
John was a bard and composed a number of songs and poems in Gaelic and English extolling his native island, of which <<43748##Eilean Leodhais ged rinn m d'fhagail>> and Lewis are examples.
