29335: Malcolm Stewart

Malcolm, son of Alexander Stewart and Catherine Macdonald, Seaforth Head was living with his wife Margaret Macdonald and their sons Alexander and Neil at Seaforth Head. Malcolm would have been employed by Eishken Estate but it is not known where they originally came from.

The family (with further children, Ann, Henny, Peggy and Catherine) appear to be living at Newmarket Hill in 1851, and at Marybank House in 1861 and 1871, where Malcolm is working as a shepherd. These entries give Malcolm’s birthplace as Lochs, and Margaret’s as Barvas or Uig.
