2989: Peter Chisholm, Reverend

Pàdruig Aonghais Iain

Peter (1884-1957) was a son of Angus Chisholm and Isabella Munro, 16 Gravir. He was residing at 314 Renfrew Street, Glasgow when he married Mary Ann Beaton of Ruchill Hospital (and Sheildaig, Applecross) at Porterfield Road, Renfrew in 1919. Peter was subsequently a Free Presbyterian minister.  In retirement he and Mary Ann lived at Glaic Mor House, Keose.

Peter spent some time as a pupil teacher at Luachair, which is located at Kinresort on the border between Lewis and Harris. He was recorded as teaching there and sharing the school house with his sister, Joan, according to the 1901 census.
