Mary Smith married John Macleod from Vuia Mhor; they had six children and after leaving Vuia in the 1840s, she lived at 2 Geshader with her son John and his family.

According to local tradition Mary was one of the family of Smiths that lived on Vuia Mhor - that would leave her a sibling of Murdo Smith.

She died between 1851 and 1861.
