36279: John Mackenzie
John Mackenzie (1772-1833), Seventh of Ballone, married Barbara Maciver, of Old North Tolsta Tack. The couple resided at South Beach Street, Stornoway. The couple had five daughters, including Margaret, and a son, John, Eighth of Ballone.
John was drowned when the brig Mary Ann on which he was returning from Sydney, Cape Breton, was wrecked in a gale on the night of 28th-29th November, 1833, off Penzance, Cornwall, and all on board perished.
