Niall Dhòmhnaill Iain
Neil (1848-1916) was a son of Donald Macphail and Christina Nicolson, 9 Old Gravir. In the 1852 Lotting the family obtained 19 Gravir.
At Strathy, Sutherland, in 1877, he married Christina Sutherland from Farr, Sutherland. Neil and Christina were Cottars at 19 Southside Gravir and they had seven children.
He was widowed in 1913.
Neil was the first sub-postmaster in Gravir, from 1884. He was also a shoemaker.
