Angus (born 1876) was the son of Donald Maclennan and Christina Macaulay. He lived at the parental home, 6 Valtos. When his mother died young, Angus was raised by his aunt and uncle, Margaret nee Macaulay and John Buchanan at 9 Valtos.

Oral tradition says that Angus lived in Canada for a time, returning in 1929. It is uncertain if he married Nora before going there or while he was there.
