Alexander (1886-1918) was a son of Angus Macaskill and Mary Nicolson, 1 Arivruach. Alexander did not marry; he served with the 9th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders during the First World War. He was killed in action at the Battle of the Somme at the age of 31, and is commemorated by the Kinloch War Memorial.
