Malcolm Macaulay (1887-1915) son of John Macaulay and Catherine Macdonald, 30 Balallan joined the Army in 1905 and served with the 1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders. He was in India from 1906-1914; from there he was posted to France. He was a Lance Sergeant and was killed in action at Neuve Chappelle. Malcolm was awarded the Mons Star and is buried at Le Touret Memorial Cemetery, France.
