41234: Marion Macleod

Marion, born c1811, was a daughter of Angus and Mary nee Macaulay, Croir. She appears on the 1871 census at the paternal home as a widow but in 1881 she is noted as unmarried. However in 1891 and on her death register she is recorded as the widow of a seaman named Thompson. Marion and her sister Chirsty cared for their nephew George after his siblings had died from smallpox. According to tradition they moved to Gasun then to No 4 Hacklete; from there to No 8 Breaclete where they settled. Marion and Chirsty died within five days of each other.
