41491: John Macaulay

According to tradition John wrote regularly to his 1st cousin Jessie Macaulay, a daughter of Lewis emigrants in Quebec. She sent him her photograph and, whether it was her looks that impressed him or not, he invited her to Lewis. She accepted and they married soon afterwards.They settled in Carloway where he ran the Post Office. John died just three months short of his hundredth birthday.
