Mary Macdonald (1788-1868) was a daughter of Donald and Christina Macdonald from Harris.

She married widower John Campbell of Buanish, formerly Harris. Mary and John settled at 6 Buanish where they had four of their six children.

Buanish was cleared in 1826 the and the family was moved to 14 Tong.

In 1845 her husband took over 1 Tong and by 1850 the family had settled there.

Mary was widowed in 1868 and died of Bronchitis later that year.
