Aonghas Iain Iain

Angus  (1899-1924) was a son of John Kennedy and Isabella Macleod, 4 Cromore. 

He was a fisherman on Stornoway registered boats and on July 2, 1917 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, Service Number DA16896 with subsequent re-enrollement  A10014. His record indicates that he was 5ft 11in tall with grey/green eyes and a fair complexion. He served in the First World War based at HMS Iolaire and aboard HMT Swann II, HMS Vale O'Moray and  HMS John Watt . He was awarded £1.0.0. in Prize Money and his name is mentioned in  Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

After the War Angus returned to fishing and remained in the Royal Naval Reserve. He was training at HMS Hecla when he died, aged 24,  of Heart Failure due to Tuberculosis. The post mortem reported Natural Causes.
