43213: Angus Montgomery

Angus, son of Murdo Montgomery and Christina Macarthur, 4 Balallan went to Peru in 1921 and returned to Balallan in 1925. He was employed for a time with J&P Coats of Paisley and he emigrated with his brother Malcolm to Mexico City in early 1926. Whilst on a boating expedition with his brother Malcolm to a lake near Mexico City to celebrate Empire Day, the craft overturned and the two brothers were thrown into the water. Angus was caught in giant weeds on the lake bottom and when Malcolm tried to rescue him, both were entangled and drowned.
