Murdo Macdonald (1826-1904) has uncertain origins.
In 1841 Murdo is enumerated in Tobson with his widowed mother and two brothers, Donald and Angus.
In 1851 the three brothers emigrated to Quebec and settled in Whitton, Compton County. Murdo became a farmer.
On the 4th of May 1862 Murdo married Annie Buchanan; the couple went on to have at least seven children.
