44815: Donald Macdonald

Donald (1863-1930) was a son of Duncan Macdonald and Catherine Macleod, 12 Balallan. He served with the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders and became a Colour Sergeant before retiring as a pensioner in 1908. He joined the Army Service Corps after the outbreak of War in 1914 and held the rank of Acting QMS. He was residing at 19 Seedhill Street, Paisley when he married Williamina McCubbin, Paisley. Following his marriage they lived at 73 Govan Road Glasgow. Donald’s portrait hangs in Stirling Castle.
